Charcoal or Gas Grills: Which Should You Buy?
When you are about to buy a new barbecue, you have a vast array of options laid out before
you. Out of all of these choices though, is the most fundamental one: Do you buy a charcoal or a gas barbecue
grill? This choice is the first choice that you have to make before you can go forward with making a decision about
other styles and features for your new grill.
Both styles of barbeque have advantages as well as disadvantages, depending on what it is
that you are looking for in a grill. The great news is that both styles produce amazing tasting food! They actually
each produce a slightly different taste, and which you like more is entirely a matter of personal taste. Either
way, whichever type of grill that you choose, you are guaranteed to have a BBQ that will provide great tasting
food.
For some people, a BBQ is not a proper grill unless it involves cooking the meat over
coals. To really cook great with charcoal, you've got to get a bit of a system down. Getting the grill to the
perfect temperature takes a bit of mastering, and aside from that you also have to deal with ashes once you are
done cooking. Some people just love the whole process of starting and tending a fire on the grill while cooking.
Add to that the charcoal grills perceived difference in taste and smell, and you've got a real winner for some.
Cooking on a charcoal grill can be a completely different and rewarding experience from that of cooking on a gas
BBQ.
A gas grill, on the other hand, is a much simpler beast to tackle. With the push of a
button and the turning of a few knobs, you've got flame! Temperature is easily controlled with several burners via
their individual controls. A gas grill, just like charcoal, also produces amazing tasting food. Some think that it
doesn't have the unique flavor that you get from the charcoal flames, while others disagree and claim that they
taste nearly identical.
Both styles of barbecues have their good points and their bad. Taking your use of the
grill into account before buying one will help you determine which direction you'd like to go. If you aren't a real
barbecuer and will only use the BBQ very infrequently, then you might decide to buy a charcoal grill, as they are
usually far less costly. On the other hand, if you are going to grill on a regular basis, a gas barbecue may suit
your needs better. It's faster to get going and easier to control the temperature while cooking.
Whichever direction you decide to go with your new barbeque purchase, either style will
leave you with a great grill. The quality of the food that you cook on the BBQ will be great, either way. Make your
choice, research your options, and make your purchase! You're sure to have many great experiences and delicious
meals cooked to perfection on your new barbecue.
